We are seeking an experienced **QA Automation Engineer** with deep, hands-on expertise in **Playwright** to build and maintain automated testing solutions for web applications and APIs.
**Location:** Remote
**Work Hours:** Must be available during EST/EDT business hours
**Employment Type:** Contract
### Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain a scalable Playwright automation framework using TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Create automated functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and API tests.
- Develop reusable fixtures, page objects, utilities, and test-data solutions.
- Use Playwright locators, auto-waiting, assertions, projects, and test configuration to create reliable tests.
- Execute parallel and cross-browser testing across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit.
- Perform API testing using Playwright's `APIRequestContext`.
- Implement network mocking, request interception, authentication-state reuse, and test-data setup.
- Configure Playwright tracing, screenshots, videos, retries, and HTML reporting for troubleshooting.
- Reduce flaky tests and improve automation stability, execution speed, and test coverage.
- Integrate Playwright tests with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams throughout the development lifecycle.
### Required Qualifications
Professional english speaking is a must
- 10+ years of QA automation experience.
- At least 5 years of recent, production-level Playwright experience.
Finance experience is a must
Designed, architected, and scaled a custom automated testing framework from inception.
- Strong TypeScript or JavaScript programming skills.
- Experience building or significantly enhancing a Playwright framework from scratch.
- Strong knowledge of Playwright Test Runner, fixtures, hooks, projects, parallelization, and worker management.
- Experience with resilient locators, role-based selectors, auto-waiting, and debugging.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright API testing, route handling, network mocking, and authentication.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, REST APIs, SQL, Git, and Agile practices.
- Ability to work remotely during EST/EDT hours.
### Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or LambdaTest.
- Familiarity with Playwright visual comparisons, accessibility testing, and mobile-device emulation.
- Experience with Allure, Playwright HTML reports, or ReportPortal.
- Exposure to performance, security, or contract testing.
- Experience in insurance, banking, financial services, or healthcare is a plus.
