Position Description

The Relativity & Digital Forensics Operations Lead is responsible for supporting eDiscovery and forensic matters end-to-end from forensic data collection and preservation through processing, review, and project delivery in Relativity. This role requires strong technical knowledge of digital forensics methodology, electronic data collections, and Relativity, combined with the ability to confidently engage with clients, understand their needs, and coordinate successful project execution.
Responsibilities
Digital Forensics
- Plan, coordinate, and execute forensically sound collections of electronically stored information from computers, mobile devices, cloud platforms, servers, and other data sources, maintaining a defensible chain of custody throughout.
- Perform forensic analysis of collected devices and data (including artifact recovery, timeline reconstruction, deleted/hidden data recovery, and identification of relevant digital evidence) using industry-standard forensic tools.
- Prepare forensic collection and analysis reports suitable for legal proceedings, including documentation of methodology, tools used, and chain of custody.
- Serve as a technical witness resource when forensic findings require explanation to counsel, courts, or regulators.
- Stay current on forensic tools, techniques, and emerging data sources (mobile OS updates, cloud/SaaS platforms, IoT, ephemeral messaging apps) relevant to investigations.
Relativity & eDiscovery Operations
- Manage and support eDiscovery projects within Relativity from project setup through completion.
- Configure and manage Relativity workspaces, including data loads, processing, review workflows, productions, exports,
and related project activities.
- Troubleshoot Relativity, data, and workflow issues and drive technical challenges through resolution.
- Perform and oversee quality control of forensic and eDiscovery project workflows and deliverables.
Client & Team Engagement
- Serve as a knowledgeable client-facing resource, confidently discussing collection scope, forensic findings, project requirements, technical considerations, timelines, and status.
- Translate client requests into appropriate technical workflows and solutions spanning forensics and eDiscovery.
- Coordinate with internal teams to prioritize work and ensure accurate and timely delivery.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities in a fast-paced, integral environment.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members and promote consistent forensic and eDiscovery best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and overall operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of eDiscovery experience with significant hands-on Relativity experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with digital forensic collections and forensic analysis (computers, mobile devices, cloud/SaaS sources), including use of forensic tools such as Cellebrite, Axiom, EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of chain of custody, evidence handling, and forensic documentation standards defensible in legal proceedings.
- Strong knowledge of Relativity workflows, including processing, review, productions, and exports.
- Experience working directly with clients and the ability to confidently communicate technical concepts forensic and eDiscovery alike to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones.
- Relativity certification(s) preferred; forensic certifications (e.g., EnCE, CCE, GCFE/GCFA, Cellebrite CCO/CCPA) are a strong plus.
