Job Purpose:
Cross-border Procurement Associate is an entry level position focused on training and development in Cross-border Procurement development.
Duties and responsibilities:
Call Cross-border carrier providers to fulfill commitments made to customers
Negotiate rates
Document and communicate offers
Use discretion to book loads
Use discretion to determine when to bring options above the notated Carrier Buy Rates to service our existing clients
Obtain proper paperwork where applicable
Develop and manage carrier portfolio of “owned cross-border carriers”
Absorb and apply material learned in training
Get accustomed to both internal and external TMS platforms
Provide load coverage assistance for harder to cover lanes
Generate carrier capacity for cross-border targeted lanes from BG’s internally built database, as well as other outside sources the Cross-border Procurement Associate has access to.

Hit target KPI’s for call volumes, carrier files updated, loads booked
Develop entry level cross-border freight broker sales and negotiation skills
Follow proper carrier qualification (ORCA) and onboarding processes (RMIS)
Build a sales portfolio from carrier cold calls
Assist in developing and updating cross-border pricing
Integrate carriers with tracking and booking automation platforms
Communicate late deliveries and issue resolution when necessary
Qualifications:
Entry level training period
Posses willingness to learn and excel
Strong work ethic
Willingness to be coached and hit target KPI’s
