Summary:
- To support the business within a country with complex analysis, reporting, forecasts etc. (typically very large to large revenue) and provide expert advice within a core FRA process/ area/ technology

About the Role:
- Location: Hybrid. CDMX

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee day to day tax compliance, reporting and operational processes (Preparations and filing of direct, indirect and withholding tax returns)
- Ensure of accurate tax filings, maintain regulatory compliance for the Region
- Collaboration and management between different areas of the Company to manage risks and optimize operational efficiency
- Supervise tax operations team
- Develop and maintain standardized tax processes, procedures, and internal controls.
- Coordinate tax data collection and validation
- Review tax calculations and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness in time and manner
- Manage tax provision processes in collaboration with accounting team
- Oversee tax payments and ensure timely submission to relevant authorities




- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes that may impact the operation in the Region for each country
- Coordinate responses to tax authorities
- Coordinate meetings with other areas of the Company if needed
- Collaborating and managing relationships with external advisors
- Ensure proper documentation and retention of tax records and filings
- Identify tax risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Lead process improvement projects to increase efficiency in tax compliance flows or improvements
- Team leadership in accordance to Novartis values and behaviors

Required Skills:
- Tax Compliance Expertise and knowledge of countries in the region, financial and accounting knowledge, analytical skills, attention to detail, process management.
- SAP knowledge, Vertex knowledge (desirable), leadership and team management, communication skills, problem solving ability, stakeholder collaboration, risk management, time
