Result of Service
- At the end of the consultancy, the consultant will deliver a document diagnosing and analyzing the cassava value chain in the Nord department of Haiti. The study will identify key constraints across different stages of the chain that affect its resilience and development. The consultancy will also contribute to strengthening coordination among local stakeholders and the project focal point. This product corresponds to Outcome 3, Output 3.2. The diagnostic will serve as a key technical input for the subsequent phases of Component 3 of the project “Rural agricultural value chains and climate-smart technology policies at the subnational level in Latin America and the Caribbean”, particularly for the preparation of an action plan aimed at promoting climate change adaptation, improving productive capacities, and strengthening the participation of women and youth in the value chain.

- Background Within the framework of the project “Rural agricultural value chains and climate-smart technology policies at the subnational level in Latin America and the Caribbean”, implemented by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) during the period 2025-2028, the objective is to strengthen technical and institutional capacities at the national and subnational levels in order to promote more productive, inclusive, and climate-resilient agriculture. This project is financed through the 17th tranche of the United Nations Development Account and is being implemented in four pilot countries: Colombia, Cuba, Chile and Haiti. Component 3 of the project, led by the ECLAC Subregional Office in Mexico, aims to promote economic and social upgrading in selected rural value chains through a participatory and territorial approach.
