Summary:
The Procurement New Product Development Manager, will support the Purchasing activities related to sourcing for NPD, reporting to the Director of Procurement. The Procurement Manager is a source of knowledge for category / products and suppliers, and will be responsible for the effective management of sourcing for New Product Development,
category strategy development and implementation, and cost improvement/reductions. Other responsibilities include optimizing supplier relationships while maximizing value and ensuring uninterrupted product flow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and/or maintain an in-depth global market knowledge of commodities/ supplier technologies, manufacturing processes, and related industries: including cost drivers, global execution, to leverage across multiple manufacturing locations, and to understand specific supply issues.
2. Lead the purchasing activities related to New Product Introduction
3. Identify and propose alternate sources to R&D; and project teams during the product development cycle to improve value and mitigate risk
4. Assist in development and implementation of integral category strategies related APIs to support the portfolio based on knowledge of global markets, suppl
