Job Description
Responsible for:
Designing, developing, validating, and integrating components within the Thermal Coolant Management subsystem for automotive propulsion systems. The Design Engineer will ensure robust, cost-effective, manufacturable, and serviceable solutions through the application of advanced engineering methodologies, virtual validation tools, and design best practices while delivering high-quality mathematical releases on time.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of components within the Thermal Coolant Management subsystem.
Execute, maintain, and continuously improve design standards, engineering best practices, and integral design processes.
Design automotive components using DFMEA methodologies.
Develop engineering solutions following Design to Cost principles while maintaining performance and quality standards.
Apply Design for Manufacturability criteria to ensure efficient and scalable production processes.
Perform full NX design analysis for assigned subsystems and implement findings with support from senior designers or Design Lead Teams (DLTs).
Create, update, and maintain mathematical data (3D models), including material specifications, mass properties, and component attributes.
Develop mathematical models and virtual designs for complex automotive components and subsystems.
Integrate component designs into complete thermal management systems.
Collaborate closely with Design Release Engineers (DREs), manufacturing Engineers, Integration Engineers, and Performance Engineers to support design activities, component requirements, and virtual integration efforts.
Ensure timely and high-quality mathematical releases for components and subsystems.
Proactively communicate project status, timing concerns, risks, and technical challenges to the Design Manager, DLTs, and DREs.
