About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Property Underwriting Analyst to support risk selection and home valuation for new and renewal business. In this role, you will evaluate property risks using inspection reports, aerial imagery, and multiple data sources to ensure accurate underwriting decisions and appropriate risk classification.
You will collaborate with internal teams, agents, and customers to provide clarity on underwriting guidelines and decisions. As a subject matter expert, you will also contribute insights to improve underwriting strategies, tools, and communication practices,
while supporting team learning and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Evaluate new and renewal property risks based on inspection reports, aerial imagery, and available data sources
- Apply underwriting guidelines and professional judgment to determine risk eligibility
- Validate home replacement cost estimates (RCE) and ensure proper insurance-to-value (ITV) alignment
- Update policies as needed to reflect accurate risk classification and valuation
- Respond to agent, customer, and internal inquiries regarding underwriting decisions via chat and email
- Communicate underwriting philosophies, guidelines, and expectations clearly to stakeholders
- Leverage AI-supported tools and data models to enhance underwriting decisions
