Job Summary
Reporting to the Engineering Project Manager, the Civil Engineer will perform civil engineering work for both the private and public sectors. In this role, work includes site development, commercial development plans, subdivisions, and roadways utilizing Civil 3D and other applicable software programs. Additionally, the Civil Engineer will exhibit exceptional professional and communication skills in a collaborative environment. The Civil Engineer, with the guidance of the Engineering Project Manager, works to meet the needs of clients by providing excellent technical input and customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares engineering plans, design calculations, specifications, bid documents and cost estimatesConducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineerCreates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings,



andfinal working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineerCollects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineerUses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problemsPerforms work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule undersupervisionCompletes tasks efficiently by utilizing time to complete tasks accurately, ontime, and within budgetVisits sites regularly and attends meetings with clients/contractors as neededCommunicates with project team members, client representatives, and others as appropriate to the project Required Skills and Abilities
Civil design experience in roadway, grading, drainage, utility, and site development projects
Knowledge of local and state design standards and procedures
Knowledge of engineering and data analysis techniques and theories
Capable of working independently or within a design team
Ability to professionally communicate with the project team, government agencies, and clients
Has a positive attitude and strong oral and written communication skills
Capable of handling multiple responsibiliti
