ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We're hiring the person who will own paid acquisition for our DTC channel as it moves from a controlled, governed starting point toward meaningful scale. This is fundamentally an economics role before it is a media-buying role: the person we hire will operate inside clear contribution and measurement guardrails, and will be trusted to leave budget unspent when the numbers don't support deploying it.
Recruiting this role does not itself authorize increased ad spend—spend scales in steps, gated by sustained contribution performance, not by hire date. If you're energized by proving out an account methodically and scaling only what's actually working, this role is built for you.
ABOUT US
Ecotero LLC operates five private-label brands led by DECOLURE in premium bedding and home textiles. Amazon is the mature channel at $18M+ annually across roughly 703 SKUs. TikTok Shop does roughly $4.5M and is growing. DTC on Shopify is early.
We are a 27-person distributed team. The analytical infrastructure here is unusual for a business this size: SKU-level COGS across the full catalogue, daily API pipelines into PostgreSQL, competitor tracking, and AI operational agents that produce weekly audit drafts, anomaly flags and performance reports for your review.
SCOPE OF THIS ROLE
This role reports directly to the Head of DTC. You'll own the ad accounts and day-to-day media decisions, but spend authorization is governed separately and is not automatically unlocked by this hire—increases are tied to sustained, measured contribution performance.
You'll work closely with the Lifecycle and Retention Manager, whose cohort and LTV reporting sets your CAC ceiling, and with the Paid Social Creative Producer, who supplies and iterates on creative based on your test results.
You do not own landing page development or on-site conversion optimization directly, though you'll partner closely with whoever does to make sure traffic and landing experience are aligned.
As the channel matures, this role's scope is expected to grow into a broader acquisition function with additional specialists; today, it's a hands-on, individually owned seat.
WHAT YOU OWN
- Meta and Google as core paid channels, expanding to Pinterest, YouTube, or others as they qualify on the numbers.
- Account structure, campaign architecture, audience strategy, bid strategy,
and day-to-day budget pacing.
- The daily discipline of deciding where the next marginal dollar goes, including the discipline to leave it unspent when the account doesn't support it.
- Operating within a defined spend gate tied to sustained contribution or blended MER performance — spend scales in governed steps as performance clears agreed thresholds, not on a fixed schedule.
- Blended MER and contribution economics after COGS, fulfillment, returns, and media cost, not platform-reported ROAS alone.
- Applying a realistic haircut to platform-reported return metrics before planning against them.
- CAC ceilings set from the lifecycle team's cohort and LTV data, not from a platform dashboard metric.
- A structured creative testing calendar in partnership with the Creative Producer — every test has a stated hypothesis, a minimum sample size, and a kill criterion set before launch.
- Winner scaling and fatigue monitoring: tracking frequency, CPM drift, and knowing when a winning ad is done.
- Incrementality testing, geo holdouts or spend-down tests on a regular cadence, and understanding how much of reported non-brand conversion is actually incremental versus cannibalized branded search.
- Working with the CRO/merchandising owner to ensure traffic and landing pages are matched, even though you don't own the page itself.
- Clear, regular reporting on account performance, test results, and the reasoning behind every scale-up or pull-back decision.
REQUIRED EVIDENCE
Required
- You have personally held a blended MER or contribution target on an account with $100,000 or more in monthly governed spend, sustained over a period of at least six months, and can name the brand, the dates, and the results.
- You can describe a specific time you reduced or stopped spend on something that looked good on the dashboard, the threshold you used, who disagreed, and what happened afterward.
- You can do the arithmetic: given margin, AOV,
and cost structure, you can derive break-even MER and a maximum sustainable CAC without hesitation.
- You understand the limitations of platform-reported ROAS and can explain what you actually plan against instead.
- You have run or closely partnered on incrementality testing, geo holdouts, spend-down tests, or branded search cannibalization checks, and can speak to what you learned.
- You can provide a reference or verifiable artifact for your results; claims will be checked before a final offer.
- You're comfortable operating inside a governed spend gate rather than pushing to scale spend as fast as possible.
- You can commit to substantial same-day overlap with US Eastern hours — pacing and budget decisions happen daily.
Preferred
- Experience in bedding, home goods, or textiles.
- Agency-side and brand-side experience.
- Direct experience partnering with an in-house or contracted creative producer on a structured test calendar.
- Experience managing paid media across more than one brand simultaneously.
- Familiarity with server-side tracking, CAPI, or first-party data approaches in a post-iOS14 environment.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE In the first 30 days:
- Full account audit complete.
- A clear point of view on account health.
- A documented test calendar in motion.
In the first 90 days:
- Every spend and scale decision is explainable in contribution terms.
- Incrementality testing is underway.
- Reporting is decision-grade.
As the spend gate clears in governed steps:
- Sustained MER performance at each new spend level.
- A clean track record of test hypotheses and kill criteria.
- A working rhythm with lifecycle and creative that keeps CAC disciplined as volume grows.
WHAT YOU'LL GET
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Fully remote position. Work from anywhere.
- Direct access to the CEO. Your ideas and analysis reach the decision-maker, not a middle manager.
- Advanced tooling and infrastructure, including AI-powered analytics, custom dashboards, and automated reporting that let you focus on strategy instead of data entry.
- A team that values data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Opportunities for growth as the company expands into new marketplaces and channels.
- Employee discounts on Decolure products.
