• Design, develop, validate, and integrate components within the Thermal Coolant Management subsystem for automotive propulsion systems
• Lead the design and development of subsystem components
• Execute, maintain, and improve design standards, engineering best practices, and integral design processes
• Design automotive components using DFMEA methodologies
• Develop engineering solutions following Design to Cost principles while maintaining performance and quality standards
• Apply Design for Manufacturability criteria
• Perform NX design analysis for assigned subsystems and implement findings with support from senior designers or Design Lead Teams
• Create, update, and maintain mathematical data and 3D models, including material specifications, mass properties, and component attributes
• Develop mathematical models and virtual designs for complex automotive components and subsystems
• Integrate component designs into complete thermal management systems
• Collaborate with Design Release, manufacturing, integration, and performance engineers
• Ensure timely, high-quality mathematical releases
• Communicate project status, timing concerns, risks, and technical challenges to the Design Manager, DLTs, and DREs
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and product developments related to thermal management systems
• Share lessons learned and recommend updates to engineering standards and design best practices
• Pursue professional development opportunities and expand technical expertise
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Automotive Design Engineering, or any related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in automotive or mechanical component design
- Experience using NX, Teamcenter, and SimSolid
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling and product mathematical data management
- Understanding of DFMEA methodologies
- Advanced English proficiency
- Experience with automotive thermal management or propulsion cooling systems preferred
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis preferred
- Experience with Ansys Fluent, SolidWorks, and CAD design packages preferred
- Familiarity with subsystem integration and vehicle development processes preferred
- NX Certification preferred
- Thermal subsystem-related certifications preferred
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to prepare and present technical information
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future
