Your role at Clorox:
As the Staff Accountant within the Sales Accounting Group, lead the revenue close process, including period-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations and cross functional support. Ensure revenue-related accounting is accurate, timely, compliant with applicable accounting guidance and company policies, and supported by a strong internal control environment. Serve as a subject matter expert for revenue matters, providing guidance and responding to accounting and reporting questions from business partners and cross-functional teams. Partner closely with Sales, Finance, business units, Order to Cash, external business partners (brokers) and other stakeholders to evaluate revenue impacts, support business initiatives, and address emerging accounting issues. Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities, including standardization, automation, and process enhancements, to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of revenue accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Execution of the monthly and quarterly close processes for revenue accounting accounting areas. This includes month/quarter-end accruals, balance sheet account reconciliations, system reconciliations, analytics, and reporting. 50%
- 2. Provide guidance and support for revenue, e-commerce, broker commissions, customer trade spend, and other ad hoc accounting matters. In addition, provide Order to Cash support, partnering with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting and process issues and ensure accurate, timely transaction processing. Serve as the center of expertise for these areas by performing research, updating policies, and analyzing emerging pronouncements, as needed. 25%
- 3. Leveraging AI, Shift Left and Ad-hoc Projects
- a. Leverage AI tools to streamline work, improve efficiency, and generate more meaningful insights to support accounting processes and decision-making.
- b. Drive value creation by reimagining how we work in Sales accounting, including identifying opportunities and implementing changes to be more effective and efficient in an effort to expedite monthly and quarterly close processes.

What we look for:
- Years and Type of Experience: Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in finance and/or accounting
- Skills and Abilities Minimum: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish (this role will support US) Strong analytical skills with ability to identify issues and risks Continuous improvement mindset with ability to identify and implement ways to streamline and improve effectiveness and efficiency Understanding of US GAAP and financial statements with ability to do accounting research as needed Ability to work in a cross functional environment and form strong relationships with other teams and work groups Strong planning and organizational skills Strong attention to detail and data integrity Ability to work independently and solution-oriented mindset Proficient in PC applications (e.g. Excel, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint)
- Desirable: SAP S4 Hana, Group Reporting, Power BI, Blackline experience, AI integration
- Education Level/Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience within a multinational company MBA or CPA is a plus
