The NPI Engineer is responsible for ensuring that New Product Introduction (NPI), Transfer of Work (TOW), and Engineering Change implementation projects are executed in accordance with Kidde Global Solutions standards, ensuring an efficient transition into production,
compliance with quality requirements, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities.
- Execute NPI and TOW projects in accordance with Kidde General Solutions standard processes.
- Properly document processes for transfer to the Production department.
- Coordinate and execute the development and approval of PRRs (Pilot Run Requests).
- Communicate product validation and release results to external customers.
- Complete required training assignments and support the development of role-related competencies.
- Follow up on activities assigned within the Passport Process.
- Manage and track engineering changes according to business requirements.
- Provide technical support to Production for process or product issues related to NPI and TOW projects.
- Support time and motion studies, as well as the development of standard work.
- Prepare direct labor cost estimates for NPI and TOW projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations through the required analyses and validations.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and events.
- Participate in EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) programs, training sessions, and communications.
- Report unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, incidents, injuries, spills, fires, or illnesses to ensure immediate response and corrective action.
- Comply with all Environmental, Health,
and Safety policies and procedures.
Basic Qualifications.
Education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic manufacturing.
- Experience with electronic board assembly and SMT processes.
- Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Transfer of Work (TOW) projects.
Languages.
- Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to effectively conduct business conversations.
Preferred Qualifications.
Technical Knowledge.
- Knowledge of Oracle.
- Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques.
- Process management.
- Interpretation and creation of BOMs (Bill of Materials).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
- Process certification.
- IPC certification.Knowledge of ECO or TDA processes.
- Manufacturing Standard Work and Cell Design.
- Financial analysis and ROI evaluation.
