Job Description This role supports the organization’s data protection, privacy compliance, and AI governance program across the Americas. The position ensures that personal data is handled in accordance with applicable local regulations and company policies.
Working closely with the Global Privacy, Product & AI Legal team, this role plays a key part in monitoring compliance, raising awareness across the organization, supporting contract reviews, and advancing responsible AI practices. The position serves as a strategic partner and right hand to the Americas Privacy Leader, with strong opportunity for growth and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Protection Compliance
Monitor and maintain statutory registrations and filings across countries in the Americas
Support internal privacy compliance reviews and audits
Assist in incident response and data breach escalation processes
Review and update privacy notices, disclosures, and consent mechanisms
2. Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
Support the preparation, documentation, and maintenance of DPIAs for new projects, systems, or products
Identify privacy risks and recommend mitigation strategies
3. Contracting & Third-Party Risk Management
Review and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and data protection clauses with vendors and clients (critical responsibility)
Monitor third-party compliance with data protection requirements
Support broader contract lifecycle management related to privacy
4. Data Subject Rights
Support handling of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) across the Americas
Ensure requests are processed within regulatory timelines
5. Training & Awareness
Manage and deliver data protection training and awareness programs for associates
Promote a strong privacy culture across the organization
6. AI Governance & Compliance
Support implementation and maintenance of internal AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards
Assist in monitoring evolving AI regulations (e.g., AI Act and local frameworks)
Advise on responsible, lawful, and ethical use of AI aligned with internal policies
7. Documentation & Tools
Maintain privacy documentation and compliance records using tools such as OneTrust
Support reporting, tracking, and governance activities
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with: Global Privacy, Product & AI Legal team
Americas Legal leadership
Business stakeholders across the region
9. Additional Responsibilities
Provide translations when required (primarily Spanish, Portuguese, English)
Support regional and global privacy initiatives
Scope & Impact
Covers the entire Americas region (multi-country, multi-regulation environment)
Heavy involvement in contract review, compliance documentation, and operational privacy execution
Exposure to both data protection and emerging AI governance topics
Qualifications IAPP Certification (CIPP, CIPM, or equivalent)
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
3–6 years of experience in privacy, compliance, governance, or regulatory roles
Strong experience reviewing and negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs)
Experience in contract review and legal documentation
Solid understanding of personal data and data protection principles
Fluency in: English
Spanish
Portuguese nice to have
Preferred
Experience with privacy tools (e.g., OneTrust)
Exposure to data breach response processes
Familiarity with DPIAs
Basic knowledge of AI concepts and AI governance
Experience in multinational or regional environments
Additional language (e.g., French) is a plus
