Art Director/Lead Designer
AIVideo.com · Americas · Fully remote · Full-time
Every few weeks, a new twitter post blows up because someone pushed the boundaries of what’s visually possible with the newest tools.
Most designers find out about it from a Twitter thread. You’ll find out because it’s already in your toolbar, or because you or someone on this team created it.
We’re AIVideo.com: a creative studio with our own platform (think Adobe on steroids), which we use every day to produce cutting-edge content for multimillion-dollar brands. Image, video, voice, music, motion – whatever your creative brain can dream up, we’re probably already testing it.
We’re not “exploring AI.” We build with it.
Now we’re looking for a talented designer and art director to help define what great next-gen creative actually looks like: for us and for the brands we work with.
What you’ll be doing
- Owning the visual standard. You’ll define and continuously sharpen our visual language across brand, social, paid media, decks, launches and everything in between. Type, layout, color, composition, imagery, motion: you’ll be the person asking, Does this actually look good?
- Making the work. Statics, carousels, campaign visuals, social assets, thumbnails, storyboards, decks and whatever else needs designing. Sometimes you’re starting from scratch. Sometimes you’re taking something that’s 80% there and making it great. And sometimes you’re translating a major brand’s guidelines into an entirely new world of typography, photography and video.
- Exploring what shouldn’t exist yet. AI gives us an almost unlimited canvas. You’ll use it to explore new worlds, styles, formats and ideas, then bring the taste to know which ones are worth pursuing.
- Directing the machines. You’ll prompt, iterate and art-direct generative models until the output is genuinely good, while knowing when to stop generating and just design the thing yourself. AI is part of your creative process, not the final answer.
- Teaching the AI our taste.
You’ll help improve how our own tools understand great creative by identifying where outputs fall apart, building references and translating creative judgment into systems our AI can learn from.
- Pushing the team. You’ll work closely with our Creative Director and mentor editors with specific, actionable feedback and build visual systems, templates and references that raise the quality of the entire team without making you the bottleneck.
- Keeping performance in the room. Beautiful isn’t enough. Our work has a job to do: stop the scroll, communicate quickly and convert. You’ll work with strategists, copywriters, editors and media buyers to turn performance learnings into better creative.
What makes you the one
- 5+ years designing or art-directing digital work, with a portfolio that shows strong visual thinking and work that actually shipped.
- You have a genuinely great eye for type, layout, color, composition, imagery, branding and motion.
- You think in brands, not just assets. You know how to evolve a visual identity without making everything look the same.
- You’re already using AI creatively and have opinions about it. Midjourney, Flux, Runway, Kling, Veo, Nano Banana — your stack will change, and you like it that way.
- You don’t treat AI like a slot machine. You art-direct, iterate, composite, retouch and design around its limitations.
- You’re conceptually strong. Give you a blank canvas and you start thinking about what could be done.
- You’re fast and prolific. You’d rather explore ten directions and kill nine than spend three days defending the first idea.
- You communicate clearly, give useful feedback and can defend an idea without being precious about it.
- You're enough fluent in english to be able to communicate with our team and understand feedback (and have AI double check your grammar/spelling in case)
Bonus points
- You can write the hook, not just design around it.
- You’ve worked on performance creative, especially Meta.
- Strong After Effects or Premiere skills.
- 3D, motion design or a weird creative pipeline you built because the existing tools weren’t enough.
- Experience evolving a visual identity for a tech company.
- You’ve worked directly with AI product or engineering teams.
- You’ve broken a generative model in an interesting way and screenshotted it.
The toolkit
Figma · Photoshop · Illustrator · After Effects · Premiere · AIVideo.com · every image/video/voice/music model worth using · Google Workspace · ClickUp · Discord · macOS · and whatever comes out next month.
The stack will change. That’s kind of the point.
The deal
- Fully remote within the Americas
- Competitive compensation
- US public holidays + 15 days PTO
- The tool and the credits to live out your wildest creative dreams. You will not be rationed for generations.
- A team of brilliant minds shaping the future of content, who also happen to be genuinely kind, caring people to work with.
How to apply
Send your portfolio to our Creative Director at
[email protected].
We want to see taste, range and thinking, not just polished case-study mockups.
Tell us briefly about something you made that you’re particularly proud of: the idea, why you made it that way and what happened when it went out into the world.
And if you’ve made something strange and great with AI, lead with that.
AIVideo.com is an equal opportunity employer. The work is better when people get to be themselves, and our process is built to be inclusive and barrier-free regardless of identity, background, beliefs or disability.
And if you’re reading this thinking you only hit eight out of ten: apply anyway. Let us do the deciding, just take the chance and send the work ?
