Position Summary
The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining CNC machining programs using G-code to support manufacturing operations. This position focuses on optimizing machining processes, improving productivity, maintaining quality standards, supporting new product launches and engineering changes, and ensuring technical documentation and program controls are accurately managed. The role provides technical support to operators, setup technicians, and manufacturing teams while driving continuous improvement, cost reduction, and process standardization initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and maintain G-code programs for CNC machining operations.Implement engineering changes on existing products, ensuring timely execution and avoiding obsolete inventory generation.
- Support the introduction of new products through machine setup, programming, validation, and process documentation.
- Optimize machining cycle times and tooling performance to improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Standardize cutting parameters and machining conditions to maximize tool life and process efficiency.Manage CNC programming records, tooling lists, soft jaw files, backups, and revision control through SharePoint and other approved systems.
- Ensure the latest program versions and tooling documentation are available to production personnel.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to CNC operators, setup technicians, and manufacturing personnel.
- Participate in PPAP activities, process validation, and dimensional approval of machined components.
- Drive cost savings projects and continuous improvement initiatives.Support internal and external audits and participate in corrective action activities when required.
- Participate in HSE, quality, and continuous improvement programs including Tier meetings, HPTs, LPAs, AMEFs, SATs, and other applicable systems.
- Maintain compliance with Gates quality, environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements and Preferred Skills
- 2-4 years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Technical Degree in Machine Tools may be considered with relevant experience.
- CNC programming using G-code.
- Experience with CNC lathes and machining equipment using FANUC, Siemens, or similar controls.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience with CAM software, preferably GibbsCAM or Mastercam.Knowledge of cutting tools, tooling selection, and machining processes.
- Understanding of PPAP and new product introduction processes.
- Knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing methods.
- Experience managing program revisions and technical documentation.English proficiency: written 80% and spoken 50% or equivalent business communication capability.
