To support local communities and provide guests with a more authentic local experience, we prioritize hiring Field Team members who live in the regions where we operate. Work collaboratively with fellow Expedition Leaders, Field Operations Specialists and local partners to deliver seamless, safe and exceptional guest experiences. Maintain accurate trip documentation and communicate professionally and promptly with Nat Hab staff and local partners.
Communicate professionally and respectfully with guests, fellow Field Team members, and local partners at all times. Applicants should have either at least five years of professional guiding experience leading multi-day, small-group tours, a bachelor's degree in natural sciences or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional guiding experience. Exceptional interpretation, storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver engaging, science-based interpretation, inspire curiosity and adapt educational content to diverse audiences in both formal presentations and informal field settings.
Fluency in English and Spanish required.
Wilderness First
Aid certification (or equivalent locally recognized outdoor first aid training with a minimum of 16 instructional hours).
This is an independent contractor role compensated at a competitive daily rate based on experience, with additional gratuity income from guests. Contractors are eligible for annual rate increases based on performance.
Comprehensive training is provided before the start of your first trip. Nat Hab provides branded gear as well as meals and any required transportation and lodging while on assignment. To support destination-specific learning and professional development, Nat Hab also offers a Learning Stipend.
All Expedition
Leaders receive $100 USD ($140 CAD) for their first season guiding Nat Hab trips in a new region and $50 ($70 CAD) in subsequent seasons. Nat Hab also offers a visual media compensation program for approved marketing content contributions, including photography, video, and social media assets.
