Description We are looking for a dedicated, full-charge Staff Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting for a multi-location foodservice and concessions operator.
The right person owns the books from soup to nuts: daily sales, bank reconciliations, payroll, payables and receivables, and a reliable rolling cash flow projection. Beyond the core close, this person also supports budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis in partnership with the CEO and fractional CFO. You will work as an extension of the internal team, with a fractional CFO available as a resource on a twice-weekly basis for higher-level accounting and finance questions.
Success in this role means delivering a clean, dependable monthly close and maintaining a cash position leadership can trust.
About the Company Our client is a growing multi-unit foodservice and concessions operator with airport locations, catering services, and management-services contracts. The company runs its books in QuickBooks Online, processes payroll through Paycor, and manages accounts payable through Ramp. As the business continues to grow, the accounting function needs an owner who can keep pace and bring consistency to recurring processes.
Enter and code accounts payable in Ramp; Maintain the rolling cash position and deliver a rolling 30-day cash flow projection, refreshed each Tuesday. Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts monthly, and keep bank feeds connected and current. Import and allocate payroll journal entries from Paycor by department and class; book payroll accruals; reconcile payroll liability accounts.
Own monthly reconciliations of all key balance sheet accounts, with supporting schedules. apply cash receipts. Calculate and book monthly percentage rent for airport locations from accounts receivable statements. Book cost of goods sold from vendor invoices and reconcile inventory using monthly operator counts.
Support sales and use tax filings and reconciliations. Track loan and financing balances (bank, PIDC, and any merchant advances) and their scheduled payments. Assist with audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
Build and maintain written standard operating procedures for recurring accounting processes. Analysis, Budgeting, and Planning This role prepares the analysis and supporting detail so leadership can focus on decision-making rather than data gathering. Support the annual and periodic budgeting process by building supporting schedules, loading budgets, and tracking vigente results against budget.
Prepare rolling forecasts, including cash forecasting beyond the standard 30-day projection. Produce business and financial analysis on request, including payroll and labor as a percentage of revenue, profitability by location and business line, overtime trends, and cost-control opportunities. Support external and concession sales audits with requested schedules and documentation.
Requirements Three to five or more years of full-charge bookkeeping or staff accounting experience, including ownership of the full monthly close. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online. Hands-on payroll journal entry and departmental allocation experience. Strong experience with bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
Experience working with multi-location or multi-entity accounting.
Strong Microsoft
Excel skills. Professional written and spoken English. Familiarity with percentage rent, management-fee billing, and pass-through labor models.
