For more information, visit CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented individual for the position of Facilities Coordinator for the operations chapter of the Facilities program.
Lead cleaning and pest control service projects contracted with specialized providers, defining objectives, scope, activities, requirements, specifications, strategies, and schedules based on identified needs at the CIMMYT Center and external residences. Lead the Landscaping area, ensuring compliance with scheduled services for the proper and timely maintenance of lawns, trees, hedges, and gardens in general. Oversee the General Services operations, including the setup, renovation, and delivery of offices, cubicles, and common areas, as well as the disposal of obsolete furniture and materials (whether inventoried or not).
Supervise the supply, installation, and maintenance of furniture and related accessories (e.g., Develop and update procedure manuals for the projects under their responsibility, supporting ISO certification processes.
Coordinate the semi-annual inventory of tools and equipment used by Facilities and Maintenance personnel, identifying wear, loss, or misuse. Supervise warehouse inventories, ensuring proper use of assets and identifying obsolete equipment for disposal, auction, or relocation to other stations.
Ensure proper expense classification and assignment of corresponding ICC codes in warehousing and procurement systems, as well as the control and updating of assigned CAPEX or the request of new budgets according to area needs. Coordinate administrative and operational requirements of the team, including technical training, uniforms, and digitization initiatives. Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil) is preferred.
Advanced level of English is required and will be evaluated. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum English proficiency level of B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Ability to comply with established safety regulations, as the position involves working in areas with electrical installations and a high level of occupational risk exposure.
Availability to work rotating shifts and occasionally on rest days.
