About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer who brings heavy backend strength in Java/Kotlin combined with solid, hands-on Angular capability. You will join a high-performing, distributed engineering team working across time zones where technical excellence, clear written communication, and high ownership are essential to our success.

Core Responsibilities

- Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance microservices and REST/gRPC APIs using Java and Kotlin.
- Database Management: Execute live schema migrations, optimize distributed relational databases, and maintain strict transactional consistency at scale.
- Frontend Delivery: Build and ship production-ready UI components in Angular (v18+) using TypeScript and RxJS state management.
- Quality & Engineering Discipline: Drive unit/integration testing (JUnit/Mockito, Jasmine/Karma) and participate in rigorous code reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Cloud & Security: Deploy, manage, and monitor applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) while enforcing OAuth2/JWT security standards.
- Autonomous Execution: Drive technical tasks from start to finish—proactively unblocking third-party dependencies and communicating risks early in writing.

Key Qualifications

Backend & Data Mastery (Primary Focus)

- 6+ years of software engineering experience,



with 4+ years specializing in backend development using Java or Kotlin.
- Databases: Proven experience with distributed relational databases, live schema migrations, and transactional guarantees at scale.
- APIs & Protocols: Hands-on experience with gRPC / Protocol Buffers (or equivalent) alongside RESTful APIs.
- Cloud & Security: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), OWASP standards, OAuth2, and JWT authentication.

Frontend & Quality Capabilities

- Angular Proficiency: Experience with Angular (v18+), TypeScript, and state management using RxJS to build and ship UI features.
- Testing: Strong knowledge of JUnit/Mockito for backend testing, with working familiarity in Jasmine/Karma for frontend UI testing.

Engineering Culture & Soft Skills

- Written-First Communication: Exceptional skill in asynchronous work—keeping ticket statuses updated, writing clear documentation, and raising risks before they become blockers.
- High Autonomy: Self-starter who manages third-party dependencies independently without needing manager follow-ups.
