Your mission:

Be the legal & regulatory brain that lets Pepper move fast without breaking things that matter. You'll build the compliance framework from scratch, own our regulatory relationships in Mexico, and make sure we stay ahead of the curve: finance, credit, crypto, and AI regulation are all moving at once globally, so we comply today and are ready for tomorrow.

What you’ll do:

- Own Pepper's legal framework: contracts, partner agreements, regulatory filings, reports, entity structuring.
- Lead all external legal relationships: coordinate with outside counsel, infrastructure partners, and regulators.
- Prepare and represent Pepper in KYB/AML compliance presentations and processes.
- Structure the legal framework for our first financial product, including user contracts, terms of service, and collections.
- Own our KYC/AML framework for our financial product/s, in coordination with infrastructure partners.
- Map and manage our regulatory path, based on our evolving product roadmap and early progress.
- Advise on consumer credit law in Mexico: interest rate caps, disclosure requirements, obligations, and collections.
- Track general crypto and digital asset regulation, and translate them into actionable guidance for our Team.
- Navigate the legal and regulatory landscape for stablecoin-based infrastructure in Mexico and across LatAm.
- Frame our stablecoin infrastructure correctly for regulators, banks, and partners.
- Beyond just doing the work, you’ll build and manage the agent(s) that do your work.

Who you are:

- Undergraduate law degree in Mexico with a strong understanding of financial regulation frameworks.
- Passionate, obsessed, and knowledgeable about fintech and financial services:
- Consumer credit law: you know how credit products are structured, disclosed, and regulated in Mexico, including interest caps, collections, and user rights.
- Crypto and stablecoin regulation:



you've followed the evolution of digital asset law in Mexico and are actively tracking what's happening globally and locally.

- Experience at a fintech, neobank or digital lending company in Mexico.
- Familiarity with the regulatory path for consumer credit in Mexico.
- You can steer an AI agent: break down work, build workflows, catch when it's going wrong and quickly iterate.
