Overview:
Review and draft agreements supporting ODP Business Solutions contract customers. Review internal sales organization responses to customer’s requests for proposals for accuracy and compliance to company standards. Fast pace and non-routine workflow require good time management and multitasking abilities.
Involves independent judgment and analysis of significant issue identification and resolution, while working as part of an experienced and supportive team. Influences peer group of contract development managers, and internal sales organization. Significant ability to influence senior internal sales leaders, customer/supplier management, public agency administrators, etc. to drive necessary actions for contract compliance or contract remediation efforts.
Cross functional position affecting multiple business units in the organization and requiring collaborative working relationships with such units.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review contracts, amendments, and addendums. Proactively review RFPs and bid solicitations to identify and mitigate company issues and concerns. Partner with attorneys and bid writers and sales in creation of the RFP response proposal. Ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies by analyzing contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions. Assist with negotiation strategy and partner with legal team on complex contractual issues. Lead all communication to legal, finance, pricing and operational business teams for assigned matters.
- Analyze contract documents and prepare collateral for use by attorneys and other key business units.
- Coordinate and provide guidance and leadership to cross-functional business team members (e.g. sales, pricing, finance). Identify and implement contract policies and processes.
Participate with peer team to identify opportunities for improvement of processes and strategies. Mentor cross-functional teams and sales professionals on results and apply insight to future bids/ implementations.
- Mentor and educate sales force on proper and applicable pricing methodologies available. Ensure disciplines for resolution of contract issues and disputes.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 year experience in Contract Drafting/Review, Sales or Contract Pricing, Public Sector Contracting or Procurement
- Strong English verbal and written skills
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent internal and external communication skills – understanding the perspectives of others and the ability to convey and advocate your position.
- Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to resolution of contract/bid issues.
- Ability to advise and communicate with all levels of sales professionals to identify and develop contract skills in assigned function
- Salesforce preferred
- DocuSign preferred
