ISP School Nurse Role Profile Purpose of Role The School Nurse plays a critical role in promoting the health and well-being of students and staff within the school community. The nurse provides direct medical care, health education, and guidance, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment. The role involves collaboration with staff, families, and external healthcare providers to support student health and academic success.

Assess and manage students' acute and chronic health conditions during school hours. Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with confidentiality policies. Monitor immunization records and ensure compliance with local health regulations.

Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with specific medical needs. Promote health education and preventive care programs within the school community. Serve as a liaison between school personnel, families, and healthcare providers.





Maintain an organized and well-equipped school clinic. Participate in school safety planning and emergency response procedures. Support mental health awareness and refer students to appropriate resources when necessary.

Skills: Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Organizational and record-keeping skills Empathy, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality Crisis management and problem-solving capabilities Ability to educate students and staff on health-related issues Qualifications and Experience: Registered Nurse (RN) license – required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) – preferred CPR and First Aid Certification – required Certification in School Nursing – desirable Knowledge of child and adolescent health Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, public health, or school settings Previous experience working with children or adolescents – highly valued Familiarity with educational environments and multidisciplinary teamwork ISP Commitment to Safeguarding Principles.
