What you will enjoy doing*
- Supports creation of the project vendor list
- Supports implementation and execution of the Project Procurement Plan or Strategy
- Directs inquiries and requisitions to Buyers, locally and globally, in a timely fashion
- Prepares Requests for Proposals and oversees proposal process for assigned materials/ services
- Support maintenance of project Inquiry Tracking Spreadsheets, including MTO
- Controls Purchase Order acknowledgment fulfillment
- Ensures equipment and materials execution activities according to Project Schedule, including cross-functional ones
- Maintain professional relations with suppliers, other external entities, and Linde personnel
- Complies with ISO, other regulatory requirements, and internal SOP's
- Recommends new processes where needed to improve productivity, efficiency, quality or on-time delivery.
- Collects and communicates commercial lessons learnt within Procurement as well as in Cross functions
- Supports coordination of procurement activities within team
- Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions
What Makes You Great
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university; MBA desirable
- 3-5 years’ experience within Procurement organization with Global Procurement or project team or combination of related experiences
- Experience with Linde Engineering SAP ERP business system and Global Procurement Global Workshare work processes
- Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the organization
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals at a professional level
- Effective presentation skills, including organizing and making presentations,
and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to correctly apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, conversions of weight/dimensions/currency, ability to draw and interpret graphs.
Must understand accounting principles as applicable to procurement
- Must possess strong financial analysis skills including but not limited to cost and price analysis, analyzing foreign currency impacts on material/service costs, and calculating time value of money
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective computer skills; SAP, Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications
