Job Title: SQE Engineer – Castings

Location: Emiliano Zapata, Mexico

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Foundry Process & Quality Engineer with strong expertise in sand casting/iron casting, foundry quality, process improvement, and problem-solving . The role focuses on reducing casting defects, improving production yield, conducting process audits, and supporting foundry operations through data-driven root cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Resolve casting defects such as porosity, core shift, NCU, and over-grinding issues

- Conduct process audits and ensure adherence to foundry control plans and standards
- Analyze production, yield, and scrap trends to drive corrective actions

• Lead problem-solving activities using 8D, DOE, Root Cause Analysis, and Pareto analysis

- Collaborate with machining and foundry teams to address downstream quality concerns

• Interpret complex casting/machining drawings, specifications, and GD&T; requirements

• Drive Lean Six Sigma initiatives for process optimization and productivity improvement

- Support production ramp-up and stabilization of complex cast components

Requirements:





• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

• 5–10 years of experience in foundry, casting, or quality engineering

• Strong hands-on experience with Sand Casting and/or Iron Casting

• Strong knowledge of foundry operations and casting quality

• Experience resolving casting defects through RCA and corrective action

• Experience with 8D, DOE, Lean Six Sigma, and process improvement

• Experience conducting process audits and quality improvement activities

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production, yield, and scrap data

• Proficiency in engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T;

- Experience working with machining processes and downstream quality issues is preferred
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent English and Spanish are mandatory

• Must have a valid work visa and be willing to travel frequently to the USA and Canada

• Must be available to work onsite in Mexico
