Structural Engineer
Reports To: Engineering / Project Management Team
Position Objective
Support the design, analysis, and coordination of structural engineering projects for U.S.-based clients by performing structural calculations, reviewing engineering documents, and coordinating technical requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
The engineer will ensure structural designs comply with applicable U.S. building codes and engineering standards while working closely with internal teams, architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Engineering
- Perform structural analysis and design for commercial, industrial, residential, and related building projects.
- Design and review structural systems and components based on applicable project requirements.
- Prepare and review structural calculations and engineering documentation.
- Develop and review structural drawings for accuracy and compliance with design requirements.
- Ensure structural designs comply with applicable U.S. building codes and engineering standards.
- Evaluate structural conditions and provide practical engineering solutions.
- Identify design issues, inconsistencies, and potential constructability concerns.
- Coordinate structural requirements with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.
Project Coordination
- Support structural engineering projects from design through construction.
- Review RFIs, submittals, technical documentation, and project-related engineering information.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, project managers, and other project stakeholders.
- Participate in project coordination and technical meetings with U.S.-based teams.
- Communicate design revisions and engineering requirements clearly to internal and external teams.
- Maintain organized project documentation and engineering records.
- Manage assigned engineering deliverables and project deadlines.
- Support QA/QC reviews of structural calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Assist in resolving technical issues that arise during design and construction.
- Support and mentor junior engineers or designers when appropriate.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Structural Engineering experience.
- Strong professional experience performing structural analysis and design.
- Experience working on building structures and structural systems.
- Experience applying U.S. structural design codes and standards strongly preferred.
- Experience designing or supporting projects located in the United States strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing and reviewing structural calculations, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and technical documentation.
- Experience coordinating structural requirements with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers.
- Experience managing multiple engineering projects, deliverables, and deadlines preferred.

Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC).
- Strong knowledge of ASCE 7 structural loading requirements.
- Knowledge of applicable U.S. structural engineering codes and standards, including ACI, AISC, and ASTM standards as relevant to project scope.
- Strong understanding of gravity and lateral structural systems.
- Advanced Revit Structure proficiency.
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency.
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software.
- Experience with the RISA structural design suite preferred.
- Familiarity with other structural engineering analysis software is a plus.
Success in This Role A successful candidate is technically strong, analytical, detail-oriented, and organized, with the ability to independently evaluate structural designs and identify potential engineering or constructability issues. Work Mode: Remote
This is a fully remote position based in Mexico supporting a U.S.-based engineering team.
The role requires regular communication in English and availability during agreed U.S. business hours.
