Enterprise Storage Migration Specialist Position Summary The Storage Migration Engineer is responsible for planning and executing enterprise storage migrations across multiple integral sites. This role performs data migrations utilizing Dell EMC Unity replication and Rubrik migration technologies, executes storage cutovers, validates data integrity, supports change management activities, and provides post-migration hypercare. The engineer will work closely with Storage SMEs, infrastructure teams, application owners, and project management resources to ensure successful migration of production storage platforms with minimal business disruption. Key Responsibilities Migration Execution Perform storage migrations utilizing Dell EMC Unity native replication technologies
Execute Rubrik-based data migrations from Unity to PowerScale platforms
Validate source and target storage synchronization prior to migration cutovers
Conduct migration pre-checks, readiness assessments, and post-cutover validation
Verify data consistency, permissions, shares, exports, and accessibility following migration
Execute migration runbooks and rollback procedures when required
Cutover & Change Management Support change control activities and approved maintenance windows
Coordinate migration activities with storage operations, application teams, and business stakeholders
Execute production cutovers with adherence to operational SOPs and governance requirements
Document migration activities, outcomes, and lessons learned
Storage Administration Configure and manage Dell EMC Unity storage systems
Support Dell PowerScale storage environments during migration activities
Monitor replication health, migration status, performance, and capacity utilization
Troubleshoot storage connectivity, replication, and migration-related issues




Hypercare & Operational Support Provide post-migration hypercare support
Investigate and resolve incidents resulting from migration activities
Work with operations teams to transition successfully migrated environments into steady-state support
Assist in storage pullback and decommission activities following migration completion
Required Qualifications Technical Skills 3+ years of enterprise storage administration and migration experience
Experience with Dell EMC Unity storage platforms
Experience configuring and managing storage replication technologies
Experience performing data migration activities using Rubrik or similar migration solutions
Knowledge of NAS technologies, including CIFS/SMB and NFS protocols
Understanding of storage networking concepts, IP connectivity, DNS, and enterprise infrastructure
Experience supporting production change windows and outage activities
Knowledge of storage performance monitoring and troubleshooting methodologies
Desired Skills Experience with Dell EMC PowerScale (Isilon)
Experience in large-scale storage refresh or technology migration projects
Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
Familiarity with ITIL processes, change management, and incident management
Experience working in multinational enterprise environments
Preferred Certifications Dell EMC Proven Professional Certification
Rubrik Certified Professional (preferred)
CompTIA Server+ or equivalent
ITIL Foundation Certification
VMware or Microsoft infrastructure certifications (preferred)
