Job Description Summary We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Intern to support process improvement initiatives across the business. This role will help identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost by analyzing workflows, supporting lean activities, and assisting teams with data-driven problem solving. The intern will work with cross-functional partners to document current processes, develop improvement recommendations, and help sustain gains through standard work and visual management.
Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business priorities using Lean and problem-solving tools
Collect, analyze, and present data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities
Assist with process mapping, root cause analysis, action planning, and implementation tracking
Help develop and maintain standard work, visual management, operating documentation and technical documentation
Participate in Kaizen events, team meetings, and improvement reviews
Partner with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to implement improvements, track actions, sustainment actions and communicate progress
Contribute creative solutions to improve quality, response time, and project outcomes
Work within applicable policies, procedures, engineering standards, and security requirements
Present analyses and results clearly to technical and cross-functional audiences
Use statistical tools to support analysis and decision-making
Document technical data generated to substantiate assigned components, assemblies, systems, and/or processes consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Required Qualifications Industrial / Administrative Mechanical Engineering (IMA) / Aeronautical / Mechanical / Energy / Software Engineering student
Fluent in English (written and spoken); must be able to maintain a conversation
Familiarity with Lean Methodology concepts
Understanding of Microsoft Project or similar software
Good programming skills; computer skills in MS Office and at least one programming language (preferably Python)
Basic Statistics
Ability to manage tasks independently
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Accountable with a strong learning/continuous improvement mindset
Open team player with strong interpersonal skills
AI agent user
Full-time: 40 hours per week
Must have tax ID (RFC) and social security number (IMSS)
In-person work required at GEIQ offices in Querétaro, México
Desired Characteristics Background in Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics & Statistics
Experience with visual management tools is a plus
