Trademark Watch & Litigation Analyst — U.S. Intellectual Property Location: Mexico City, Mexico Compensation: MXN $20,000–$25,000 per month, depending on experiencePosition: Full-TimeLanguage: Professional English requiredWe are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Trademark Watch & Litigation Analyst in Mexico City to support a growing U.S. intellectual property practice.This is an unusual opportunity for someone interested in the intersection of trademarks, brand protection, investigation, and U.S. litigation .
You will help our attorneys review trademark watch reports, investigate potentially infringing uses of our clients' trademarks, and identify situations that may warrant enforcement or litigation in the United States.What You Will DoTrademark Watch & Brand Protection You will regularly review trademark watch reports identifying potentially conflicting trademark applications and uses.Your responsibilities will include:Reviewing U.S. trademark watch reportsIdentifying potentially confusing or infringing trademarksResearching the companies and individuals behind potentially conflicting marksReviewing websites, products, services, trademark filings, and other publicly available informationOrganizing evidence and documenting your findingsPreparing concise summaries for review by U.S. attorneysHelping attorneys prioritize matters requiring further investigation or enforcementPlaintiff-Side Litigation Development You will also help us grow our U.S. plaintiff-side trademark enforcement and litigation practice.This includes:Reviewing potential trademark infringement situationsConducting preliminary factual researchIdentifying potentially significant infringement mattersResearching potential defendants and their businessesGathering and organizing publicly available evidenceHelping attorneys evaluate the commercial significance of potential disputesMaintaining organized pipelines of potential enforcement mattersAssisting with preparation of internal case summaries and attorney review materialsYou will not provide U.S. legal advice or independently make legal determinations.
Final legal analysis, client advice, enforcement decisions, and litigation strategy will be handled by licensed U.S. attorneys.Who We're Looking For The adecuado candidate has:A law degree, legal studies background, or meaningful legal/paralegal experience in MexicoExcellent written and spoken EnglishStrong research and analytical skillsExceptional attention to detailThe ability to review large amounts of information and identify what mattersStrong organizational skillsGood judgment and professional ethicsComfort working with technology and online research toolsAn interest in trademarks, intellectual property, investigations, or litigationPrior experience with trademarks, intellectual property, litigation, legal research, or U.S. law firms is strongly preferred but not required for an exceptional candidate.What Makes This Role Interesting This is not primarily an administrative legal-assistant position.You will learn how U.S. attorneys evaluate potential trademark infringement and enforcement matters and will play an important role in finding and developing potential cases.Over time, a successful person in this position can develop significant expertise in:U.S. trademark lawTrademark monitoringOnline infringement investigationsBrand protectionLitigation analysisPlaintiff-side case developmentWe are looking for someone who is curious, diligent, commercially minded, and genuinely interested in figuring things out .
