As a Meat Clerk, you'll help prepare and package quality meat products, assist customers, and keep the meat department clean, organized, and fully stocked in a fast-paced grocery environment.

What You'll Do

- Prepare, package, and label meat products according to store standards
- Stock, organize, and rotate meat department inventory
- Assist customers with product selection and recommendations
- Monitor product freshness, quality, and appearance
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards throughout the department
- Operate meat cutting, packaging, and department equipment safely
- Assist with inventory management and waste reduction efforts
- Set up displays, promotions, and merchandising presentations




- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and food handling standards
- Support department operations and perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

- Must be at least 18 years old due to equipment and work restrictions
- Basic knowledge of meat cuts, food safety, and sanitation practices
- Previous meat department, food handling, grocery, retail, or customer service experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate meat cutting and packaging equipment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Adaptable availability including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Work Environment

- Fast-paced grocery store meat department
- Frequent exposure to refrigerated coolers and freezers
- Exposure to meat processing equipment requiring strong safety awareness
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of products up to 50 lbs
