ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join an exciting AI product that's already in production and actively being deployed to clients.

This is a project-based role for one month, with the possibility of extension based on project needs.

Rather than building a new application from scratch, you'll work on improving and strengthening an existing AI platform. You'll review the current codebase, improve the architecture where needed, help make the AI system more reliable, and support deployments across different client environments.

You'll work closely with the product owner to understand the existing solution, implement improvements, and help build a scalable foundation for future growth.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who enjoys understanding complex systems before making changes.

The adecuado candidate is comfortable working within an existing Python codebase, identifying opportunities for improvement, and making thoughtful changes without introducing regressions. You have experience building or working with AI-powered applications and understand how to improve AI behavior through structured testing, evaluation, and iteration.

You enjoy solving technical problems, take ownership of engineering quality, and like working on products powered by modern AI technologies.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Review and understand an existing Python codebase and AI platform.
- Improve software architecture, code quality, and maintainability.
- Enhance AI agent behavior through prompt engineering, evaluation, context management, and testing.
- Safely refactor existing functionality while maintaining system stability.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across the application and deployment environment.
- Build and improve automated tests to prevent regressions.




- Develop and maintain backend APIs and integrations.
- Support deployments across different client environments.
- Document technical decisions and engineering processes.
- Collaborate closely with the product owner throughout the project.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 4–5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Backend Engineer, or similar role.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Strong professional experience with Python.
- Experience working with existing production codebases and refactoring software safely.
- Experience building or contributing to AI-powered applications, LLM workflows, AI agents, RAG systems, or similar technologies.
- Solid understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices.
- Experience with REST APIs and backend integrations.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, MCP, OpenAI APIs, Anthropic APIs, or similar AI frameworks.
- Experience evaluating and improving LLM performance.
- Experience writing automated tests and regression tests.
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Linux environments.
- Experience with vector databases, embeddings, or retrieval-based systems.
