The Assistant Groups and Events sales manager is responsible for supporting the sales efforts for One&Only; Mandarina, responding to inquiries within the set time frame all with the intention of confirming profitable catering business and achieving annual sales group goals.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Group Sales & Events Manager in all aspects of the sales, planning and execution of group events / catering events on property
- Prepare and distribute BEO’s, site inspection alerts, group schedules as needed and as directed by the Group Sales & Events Manager
- Attend group client events to ensure smooth execution of event and communication between client and management team
- Provide seamless written and oral communication between client and resort
- Prepare and assist with pre con meetings
- Assist in timely follow up of group billing
- Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients as directed by the Group Sales & Events Manager, including but not exclusive to: Catering Sales Meeting, Revenue Meeting, Sales Meeting and Planning Visits (where applicable).
- Ensure the proper use of function space to maximize revenue potential for resort.
- Keep Director of Group Sales & Events Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matter so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.
- Comply with One&Only; standards for sales and marketing, while working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and planning committee.
- Must be willing to work a versátil schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities
- Ability to work under pressure
- Participate in sales presentations, property tours, customer meetings, and business review meetings with team.
- Understand the competitive landscape and how to maintain leadership position given market and economic changes. Adjust sales plan and strategies accordingly whilst notifying updated in the weekly report.
- Develop and maintain best practices, policies, and service initiatives to achieve optimal sales service and client retention.
About You
- Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
- College Education preferred.
- Previous experience in group sales management is mandatory.
- Strong selling and interpersonal skills
- Supervision and overall responsibility of the groups function including maintaining and monitoring the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication from group sales managers and coordinators.
- Adapt in groups systems, catering management tools.
- The ability to achieve yearly personal sales booking goals.
- Has the ability to interpret all group ceilings, Delphi or Opera sales and catering alongside hotel’s policies, procedures, and standards.
- Candidates must have excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
