About Us

Top Metal Solutions is seeking a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented Bilingual CAD Drafter to support our Engineering and Manufacturing teams in a fully remote capacity.

This position is adecuado for a CAD professional with experience in metal fabrication who is comfortable working independently, managing project deadlines, and producing accurate manufacturing documentation using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Position Summary The Bilingual CAD Drafter is responsible for developing detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, flat patterns, Bills of Materials, and production-ready technical files for metal fabrication projects.

This position is strictly goal and deadline-driven. Each project will be assigned a specific number of hours, and the Drafter will be responsible for managing the allocated time, documenting daily progress, and recording hours worked through the company's ERP Digital Work Center.

Initial training will be provided on the company's ERP system and internal drafting and modeling standards.

Key Responsibilities

Complete assigned drafting projects accurately and within established goals and deadlines.

Manage allocated project hours efficiently and record daily progress and time worked in the ERP Digital Work Center.

Develop detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings, including tolerances and technical specifications, using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Create designs involving sheet metal and weldments according to company standards and templates.





Generate and export flat patterns, DXF, STEP, and other technical files required for production and CNC cutting.

Create and release Bills of Materials (BOMs) and sheet metal cut lists.

Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, specifications, and technical information provided by internal Engineering and Manufacturing teams.

Coordinate virtually with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to verify technical accuracy before and during production.

Required Qualifications

Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field; equivalent proven experience may also be considered.

Minimum 1 year of experience in the metal-mechanic industry, including metal fabrication, structural steel, or CNC cutting.

Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, particularly Sheet Metal and Weldments.

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.

Strong understanding of technical drafting standards.

Knowledge of engineering materials, metal profiles, fasteners, and fabrication components.

Experience preparing production and cutting files such as DXF and STEP.

Willingness to learn and follow company-specific drafting standards and internal ERP workflows.





Home Office Requirements

Because this is a fully remote position, candidates must have:

A workstation or PC capable of running SolidWorks 2026 efficiently.

A high-performance processor, adequate RAM, and a dedicated GPU suitable for SolidWorks.

Active personal licenses for SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Reliable high-speed internet.

A professional home-office environment suitable for virtual meetings and daily remote collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of or certification in GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

SolidWorks certifications, such as CSWA or CSWP, particularly in Weldments or Sheet Metal.

Basic experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

Basic knowledge or experience in CNC machining.

Work Structure

This is a 100% remote, hourly contractor position. Work is assigned based on specific projects, goals, deadlines, and allocated project hours.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a structured remote environment where accuracy, productivity, time management, and meeting established deadlines are essential to success.
