In this role, you will join an established, high-performing engineering environment at Forte, collaborating across international teams to deliver scalable software architectures and seamless user experiences. You will serve as the senior-most technical voice on a mission-critical, highly regulated national platform, driving end-to-end technical direction, platform health, and AI-augmented engineering frameworks across parallel delivery pods.

As a Principal Engineer / Tech Lead , you will contribute to its success by taking hands-on technical ownership of critical code paths, making high-impact architectural decisions, serving as Forte's primary technical liaison with client leadership, and directly mentoring a team of senior engineers to elevate team-wide quality and delivery standards.

Key Competencies

- Drive the end-to-end platform architecture across Java Spring Boot, Go, and Angular stacks, balancing immediate feature delivery with long-term scalability, observability, and SOC-2 security compliance.
- Lead API-first design strategies, integration frameworks, and hands-on code execution on critical features while directing technical debt refactoring and load modeling for regulatory growth milestones.
- Establish AI-augmented development governance, defining review standards for AI coding tools, tracking efficiency metrics, and prototyping AI-powered capabilities for regulated supply chain workflows.

Mandatory Technical Skills

- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a Principal, Staff,



or Distinguished Engineer capacity providing multi-team leadership.
- Production-grade mastery of Java Spring Boot, along with architecting and scaling systems on AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager).
- Strong working knowledge of Angular frontend architecture, GitLab CI/CD pipeline ownership, RESTful API governance, and SOC-2 compliant engineering environments.

Nice to Have Skills

- Hands-on experience with Go as a secondary backend language and automated E2E testing with Playwright.
- Familiarity with data pipeline ecosystems (dbt, Apache Airflow, Redshift), enterprise identity management (Curity, OAuth 2.0), or GS1 supply chain standards.
- Proven experience deploying and governing AI-assisted engineering tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) across multi-pod teams.

Qualifications

- Proven track record leading hands-on technical discovery, codebase assessments, and architectural transitions on production enterprise systems.
- Track record of mentoring senior and mid-senior engineers, fostering a culture of testability, high code quality, and shared ownership.
- Exceptional client-facing communication skills with the ability to represent architectural roadmaps, platform metrics, and technical decisions to executive stakeholders.
