About Earthworm

Earthworm is a group of people who believes we can solve the big issues affecting people and nature today. We work in global supply chains impacting millions of people and places around the world to make the products we buy. We work on the ground, in forests, fields and factories, helping companies, farmers and communities find practical solutions together. And we know that, ultimately, trust and positive changes comes from people getting to work together, hands in the soil.

Your Role

We currently have 2 positions being vacant in LATAM, here the descriptions below:

Role #1 : As a Sustainability Data Analyst in the Analytics team, you would be managing large, complex data sets, ensuring their integrity and quality, while creating clear and compelling reports to support data-driven decision-making for our clients. Your main responsibilities will include:

- Collect, clean and analyse information you receive from our clients to explain major trends and support the elaboration of recommendations guiding companies to transform their supply chains.
- Summarise data insights in the shape of reports to provide a compelling story on the impact of deforestation on our customers’ supply chains, related to various agricultural commodities (e.g. palm oil, soy, cocoa).
- Collaborate with your colleagues in Malaysia, Indonesia, Ecuador, Ghana and Switzerland to complete the reports, and provide further data analysis as needed.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to other analysts in report delivery, insight generation and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrate leadership in ensuring that our output is of high quality and delivered on time.
- Stay on the lookout for ways to improve our internal processes and how we work together.

Role #2 : As a Sustainability Data Project Manager in the Solution Architects team, you would be a critical bridge between the Integral Data Team, field teams, subject matter experts,

and partnership managers – enabling transparency and sustainability in our clients’ supply chains through data solution design, improvement and management. Your main responsibilities will include:

- Gathering data needs from internal teams and translating them into clear technical requirements.
- Leading data projects and managing relationships with external partners, including database implementations and process reviews.
- Managing and integrating existing database systems and workflows.
- Designing, implementing, and improving data processes end-to-end: from structure and collection to transformation, storage (ETL), analysis, and visualisation.
- Building robust, scalable data solutions for new commodities, products, and services.
- Contributing to BI dashboard development, data analysis, and the exploration of new tools and technologies (e.g. workflow automation, AI) to strengthen EF’s data capabilities.

Please indicate in your application which position you are most interested about.

Your Profile

You're driven by a desire to create positive impact for people and the planet, and you see technology and data as powerful levers to get there. You also have a passion for local and regional development.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with or managing diverse and multicultural teams, but can also work independently and take ownership of projects. Your strong communication skills and diplomatic approach will help you build strong relationships and navigate difficult conversations with ease. You are not afraid to speak up and ask questions, and you welcome being challenged, if it improves your understanding and makes the work better.

You take initiative and if you've committed to something, it gets done thoughtfully and thoroughly because you take pride in your work and feel responsible towards the people and places your data ultimately serves. Precision and integrity matter to you, as you have a strong attention to detail and you'd rather flag a flaw than let it slide, and you hold yourself to the same standard you expect of others.

You’re a curious problem-solver who asks "why" before "how". Complex systems and dynamic situations draw you in rather than intimidate you, and you're comfortable moving between technical depth and the bigger picture. You also bring a creative streak to problem-solving, as you're drawn to elegant, well-crafted and reliable solutions with your own thoughtful or innovative stamp on them.

Desirable skills for the roles:

- Advanced Excel skills (including VBA)
- Experience with Python or other programming languages
- Experience with Tableau or other BI software
- PowerPoint skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience in database management and/or data engineering (e.g. PostgreSQL databases or similar, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online)

Workings Conditions

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (preferable)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years, ideally in agriculture, social science, rural development, forestry and conservation, or similar fields of work
- Language(s): English & Spanish (C1 English & B2/C1 Spanish at minimum)
- Employment: Full-time, 1-year contract
- Location: Quito, Ecuador OR Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico
- Start Date: ASAP
- Other: Citizenship or valid work permit
