SGI General, LLC is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Finance Support Specialist based in Mexico to provide direct support to its U.S.-based Finance Department.
The position requires a finance professional with practical experience in accounting, financial reporting, project finance, budgeting, reconciliations, and financial analysis, combined with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
This role goes beyond data compilation and administrative financial support. The successful candidate must be able to understand the accounting and financial information underlying transactions and reports, identify inconsistencies, reconcile financial data, investigate variances, and transform information from multiple sources into accurate and meaningful financial reports and analyses for management. Because SGI operates in a project-based and U.S. federal contracting environment, the position requires a professional capable of working independently, managing multiple financial assignments, meeting U.S. reporting deadlines, and communicating effectively with the CFO and Finance Department.




Candidate Profile
We are looking for a finance professional who can be given a financial request, report, dataset, or workbook and take ownership of it from beginning to end.
The ideal candidate will first understand the financial and accounting logic behind the information, ask relevant questions when necessary, identify inconsistencies or missing data, reconcile the underlying information, and independently develop the report or analysis required by the CFO or
Finance Department.
The position therefore requires someone who is comfortable interpreting financial information-not simply compiling it.
Prior experience with U.S. federal contracting is highly desirable but is not necessarily a prerequisite if the candidate demonstrates strong accounting, financial analysis, Excel, and project-finance capabilities.
