Automation Field Service Engineer
to join our
Nutrition Plant Engineering (NPE)
division, focused on
Filling & Packaging equipment
.
This role is ideal for automation engineers who enjoy working in the field, solving real-time technical challenges directly at customer production sites — rather than being behind a desk.
What You'll Do
Provide automation support during preventive and corrective maintenance activities on filling and packaging machines.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to
PLC logic, HMI interfaces, sensors, servo drives, and industrial communication networks
.
Lead automation commissioning activities during equipment start-ups, overhauls, upgrades, and major service interventions.
Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers, minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring production continuity.
Train customer personnel on the proper operation, troubleshooting, and basic diagnostics of automation systems.
Represent GEA professionally at customer sites, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in




Industrial, Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering
.
English proficiency at B2 level or higher
.
3+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer
, preferably within the
Filling & Packaging industry
.
Hands-on experience with
PLC programming
, particularly Siemens, CODESYS, or Rockwell.
Experience with
SCADA systems
, such as Siemens, Schneider, Wonderware, or Rockwell FactoryTalk.
Solid knowledge of
electrical systems, industrial controls, and pneumatics
.
Willingness and availability to
travel extensively and work on-site at customer locations
.
