Plant Finance Manager – Chihuahua, Mexico

We are seeking an experienced Plant Finance Manager to lead finance and accounting activities for a manufacturing operation in Chihuahua, Mexico.

The Plant Finance Manager will serve as a key financial business partner to Plant Leadership and Corporate Finance, providing objective financial analysis, strengthening internal controls, and driving financial and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead annual operating plans, forecasts, financial planning, and plant performance analysis.
- Partner with Plant Leadership to identify financial risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
- Lead plant cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, labor and overhead absorption, and variance analysis.
- Monitor material usage, purchase price variance, labor efficiency, overhead spending, scrap, rework, and manufacturing costs.
- Oversee inventory valuation, reserves, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory accuracy.
- Support working capital and cash-flow improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate capital investments using ROI, payback, NPV, and IRR analysis.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close for the Mexico legal entity.
- Manage general ledger, accruals, provisions, intercompany accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, US GAAP, and Mexican statutory requirements.
- Support internal, external, statutory, tax, and customs audits.
- Oversee IMMEX/maquiladora accounting, temporary-import inventory controls, VAT certification, Annex 24/Annex 31, customs-related accounting, and transfer pricing requirements.




- Establish and enforce strong internal controls across inventory, purchasing, production, costing, accounts payable, fixed assets, and balance-sheet accounts.
- Identify and escalate control deficiencies and financial risks to Corporate Finance.
- Lead, coach, and develop the plant finance and accounting team.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- At least 3 years of manufacturing finance, plant accounting, plant finance, or comparable leadership experience.
- Proven experience supporting a Mexico maquiladora / IMMEX operation.
- Strong manufacturing cost-accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Mexican accounting/statutory requirements.
- Experience with general ledger, month-end close, balance-sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions, intercompany accounts, and foreign-currency transactions.
- Experience with Annex 24 / Annex 31, temporary imports, VAT certification, customs, and related compliance requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP/financial reporting systems.
- Proven experience leading and developing finance/accounting personnel.
- Advanced English
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant certification/advanced degree is preferred.

Compensation:
$107,000–$113,000 MXN monthly
