About Our Client

Our client is a leading multinational manufacturing organization undergoing an important transformation within its finance function. The company is seeking a highly capable Accounting Manager to strengthen accounting operations, enhance controls, and drive long-term process stability. This role offers the opportunity to resolve complex accounting challenges and help build a best-in-class accounting function.

- Lead the stabilization and transformation of the accounting function, addressing legacy issues and strengthening financial governance.

- Own the General Ledger, balance sheet governance, reconciliations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

- Ensure financial reporting accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and Mexican statutory requirements.

- Strengthen accounting controls across inventory, manufacturing costs, standard costing, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.

- Lead VAT compliance and recovery activities, coordinating tax matters, audits, and interactions with authorities.

- Serve as the key accounting contact for internal and external auditors, SOX teams, and regulatory stakeholders, driving timely remediation of findings.

- Identify and implement opportunities for process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across accounting operations.

- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Tax, Operations, Supply Chain, and Shared Services to improve processes and accountability.

- Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team, fostering accountability, collaboration, urgency, and continuous improvement.

- Balance short-term financial deliverables with long-term transformation and process stability objectives.





The Successful Applicant

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- CPA, MBA, Master's degree, or equivalent certification is a plus.

Professional Experience

- Accounting leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong exposure to maquiladora/IMMEX operations.

- Proven track record resolving complex accounting issues and strengthening processes and controls.

- Experience with audits, SOX, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.

- Experience in multinational organizations and/or multi-entity environments; Shared Services exposure is a plus.

Technical Competencies

- Strong knowledge of General Ledger, financial close, reconciliations, and balance sheet governance.

- Solid understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and Mexican NIFs.

- Experience with IVA, tax compliance, and Mexican regulatory requirements.

- Advanced SAP and Excel skills.

- Fluent English and Spanish.
