Job Title: Infrastructure Engineering Lead
Location: Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineering Lead to lead and strengthen IT infrastructure across Yinlun’s Mexico operations. This role will be responsible for assessing and standardizing existing infrastructure, delivering IT/OT infrastructure for new plant projects, and ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable technology operations across multiple manufacturing sites.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, project execution capabilities, and experience supporting manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and document existing IT infrastructure across Mexico sites, including networks, servers, storage, virtualization, backup systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, WAN/internet connectivity, and end-user devices.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, network diagrams, asset inventories, system documentation, and prioritized remediation plans.
- Lead IT/OT infrastructure delivery for new plant launches, including requirements, design, budgeting, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Manage core infrastructure including switching, routing, firewalls, SD-WAN, wireless, servers, virtualization, storage, backup and disaster recovery.
- Support plant-floor networks and connectivity for production equipment, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, MES/ERP systems, vision systems, and other manufacturing technologies.
- Implement IT/OT network segmentation, cybersecurity controls, vulnerability management, monitoring, backup,
and disaster recovery practices.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Facilities, Finance, ERP/MES teams, general IT, and external vendors to ensure infrastructure readiness for production and new plant launches.
- Manage infrastructure vendors, carriers, contractors, budgets, service levels, and infrastructure lifecycle planning.
- Recruit, coach, and develop a regional infrastructure team while serving as the senior technical escalation point for Mexico operations.
- Support infrastructure projects, system cutovers, shutdown activities, and production-critical incidents as required.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
Professional Experience
- 8+ years of progressive infrastructure engineering experience, including at least 3 years leading site or regional infrastructure responsibilities.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments with direct plant-floor exposure; automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience delivering a greenfield site build or major infrastructure project, including budget ownership and vendor management.
- Experience with industrial networking, IT/OT integration, and production-critical infrastructure.
Skills
- Strong hands-on knowledge of enterprise switching and routing, VLANs, firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN, and wireless networking.
- Experience with VMware or Hyper-V, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SAN/NAS storage, and enterprise backup solutions.
- Working knowledge of industrial networks, IT/OT segmentation, cybersecurity, backup and disaster recovery, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Strong project management, troubleshooting, documentation, vendor management, and leadership skills.
- Full professional fluency in Spanish and English.
- Ability to travel approximately 30–40% between Mexico sites, with occasional international travel and off-hours support for cutovers and plant launches.
- Legally authorized to work in Mexico.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CCNP/CCNA, Microsoft Azure or Windows Server, VMware VCP, GICSP/IEC 62443, PMP, or ITIL.
- Experience supporting TISAX and/or IATF 16949 audits.
- Experience with SAP or comparable ERP systems and MES integration with shop-floor systems.
- Experience with Azure hybrid infrastructure, cloud architecture, or infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience working within a Chinese- or Asian-headquartered multinational organization.
- Experience building a new IT infrastructure team, function, or regional operation from the ground up.
