We are looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to take full ownership of the estimating process for larger ground-up construction projects
.This is a hands-on role for someone who understands construction estimating, can work independently, and is confident communicating with American subcontractors, vendors, and clients. Beyond technical estimating skills, we are looking for someone who can clearly explain costs, scope, assumptions, and recommendations and who can represent the company professionally in conversations.
The idóneo candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, commercially minded, and comfortable taking ownership from the initial project review through the final estimate.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for larger ground-up construction projects.
- Review plans, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and accurately determine material, labor, subcontractor, and other project costs.
- Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and vendor pricing.
- Communicate directly with American subcontractors and vendors to clarify scope, pricing, availability, and project requirements.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, exclusions, and potential cost risks within project documents and bids.
- Develop and maintain detailed estimates, budgets, and pricing documentation.
- Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and clearly explain estimates, pricing, assumptions, and recommendations.
- Handle questions and objections professionally and confidently.
- Present estimates in a clear, organized, and easy-to-understand manner.
- Follow up with subcontractors and vendors to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure estimates are complete and submitted accurately and on time.
- Take full ownership of the estimating process and proactively manage deadlines without requiring constant oversight.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, efficiency, and profitability.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, communications, and project-related information.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably with significant experience estimating large ground-up construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, scopes, quantities, labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing.
- Demonstrated ability to produce accurate and detailed estimates independently.
- Strong experience working with subcontractors and vendors.
- Excellent spoken English with clear, professional communication that is easy for American clients and subcontractors to understand.
- Strong conversational skills and the confidence to lead professional conversations with American subcontractors and clients.
- Ability to explain technical construction and pricing information clearly to non-technical clients.
- Excellent work ethic, highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
- Proficient with estimating and construction-related software and technology.
- Experience working directly with U.S.-based construction companies, general contractors, subcontractors, or clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience estimating commercial or large-scale residential ground-up projects.
- Strong sales or business development skills.
- Ability to build relationships and establish trust with clients.
- Experience presenting estimates and helping clients understand pricing and scope.
- Familiarity with common construction estimating, project management, and CRM tools.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is more than someone who can simply produce an estimate. We are looking for someone who will own the entire estimating process and become a reliable point of contact for both the company and its clients. They should be technically strong but also highly communicative and commercially minded. They need to be comfortable picking up the phone, having conversations with American subcontractors, asking the right questions, negotiating pricing when appropriate, and speaking directly with clients.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00 per month
