YOUR ROLEAs a Senior Database Administrator on our team, you'll support Aptiv Connected Services' automotive datalogging and intelligence platform.
In this role, you will design, maintain, and optimize the databases that power our general connected vehicle products.
You'll work with large‐scale relational and non‐relational systems, enabling high‐volume data ingestion, processing, and analytics for next‐generation mobility solutions.In your daily job you will:Maintain, monitor, and optimize databases across multiple platformsOptimize cloud database configurations for cost efficiency, performance, and high availability.Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve performance issuesEnsure database security, access control, encryption, and compliance with corporate and industry data protection standards.Conduct regular system health checks and performance assessmentsManage backup, recovery, and high‐availability/cluster/DR strategiesPerform tuning reviews, query monitoring, and performance improvement initiativesDeploy, upgrade, and migrate databasesPartner with Dev and Ops teams to support database reliability, CI/CD integration, schema versioning, and deployment automation.Create and maintain documentation for procedures, standards, and policiesAutomate manual operational processesLead and mentor other DBAs and interns, helping shape the team's processes, standards,
and technical maturity.YOUR BACKGROUNDKey skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, related fields)3+ years of experience administering and optimizing MySQL and MongoDBExperience with AWS database technologies (RDS, Aurora, etc.)Background with both cloud and on‐premises database administrationAbility to develop scripts and procedures to automate routine tasks(GitHub Actions, Terraform, bash, etc.)Experience collaborating with development teams to improve performance and reliabilityExperience supporting multi‐terabyte databases and large‐scale distributed environmentsWHY JOIN US?
