CNC Manager (Manufacturing Engineering Manager)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading and optimizing manufacturing processes, particularly CNC machining and programming, fixture design, tool control, and process capability analysis. This role ensures associate safety, product quality in compliance with customer requirements, and alignment with quality management standards. The position drives continuous improvement and operational efficiency through technological innovation and execution of CAPEX investment projects, aligned with operational excellence methodologies.

EDUCATION:

Degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum of 5 years as Manager in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated experience supervising the use and performance of CNC machinery weighing 10,000 lbs or more (required).
- Proficiency in CNC programming with FANUC control systems (required).
- Proficiency in CNC programming (10 years): FANUC, SIEMENS, MILACRON, MAZATROL.
- Experience with flow control and automation components in industrial environments (preferred).
- Advanced English (spoken and written).

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

- Planning and execution of CAPEX projects.
- Estimate and analyze installation, machinery, equipment and tooling costs.
- Analyze and determine staffing requirements and equipment utilization for new products.
- Development and maintenance of tooling maintenance programs.
- Plant layout design and management.
- Knowledge of international standards: ASME, ASTM, API, ISO.
- Technical evaluation and coordination with machinery and tooling suppliers.
- Management of technical inventories (tooling, components, equipment).




- Technical training and certification of shop floor personnel.
- Implementation of process improvements, cost reductions, and cycle time optimization.
- Maintenance of technical databases related to products, machines, tooling, and programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Understanding of ISO 9000 standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Strong knowledge of cutting tool efficiency and machining optimization.
- Skilled in using measuring instruments and interpreting technical drawings.
- Analyze and determine machinery, equipment, software and tooling needed in manufacturing processes, including main and alternate processes.
- Generate, evaluate and lead projects for continuous improvement and cost reduction in product manufacturing processes, improving machining processes, tooling and optimization of CNC programs used.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Actively participate in ISO 9000 quality management systems and 5S initiatives.
- Lead Kaizen and continuous improvement events.
- Define and manage the annual operating plan and capital expenditure needs.
- Analyze equipment, software, and staffing requirements for production processes.




- Coordinate installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Supervise, train, and support the manufacturing engineering team.
- Ensure clarity in technical specifications for orders and quotations.
- Validate packaging and product handling specifications.
- Organize and oversee the daily activities of assigned personnel.
- Manage performance evaluations and talent development within the department.
- Serve as an internal instructor for technical training.
- Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
