At GEA Group, a general leader in process engineering, we are looking for an Automation Field Service Engineer to join our Nutrition Plant Engineering (NPE) division, focused on Filling & Packaging equipment.

This role is ideal for automation engineers who enjoy working in the field, solving real-time technical challenges directly at customer production sites — rather than being behind a desk.

What You’ll Do

- Provide automation support during preventive and corrective maintenance activities on filling and packaging machines.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLC logic, HMI interfaces, sensors, servo drives, and industrial communication networks.
- Lead automation commissioning activities during equipment start-ups, overhauls, upgrades, and major service interventions.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers, minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring production continuity.
- Train customer personnel on the proper operation, troubleshooting, and basic diagnostics of automation systems.
- Represent GEA professionally at customer sites, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For





- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- 3+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer, preferably within the Filling & Packaging industry.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming, particularly Siemens, CODESYS, or Rockwell.
- Experience with SCADA systems, such as Siemens, Schneider, Wonderware, or Rockwell FactoryTalk.
- Solid knowledge of electrical systems, industrial controls, and pneumatics.
- Willingness and availability to travel extensively and work on-site at customer locations.
