The MSL is a professional acting as in-field scientific resource, working throughout a product's lifecycle, help to ensure that products are utilized effectively, serve as scientific peers and resources within the medical community, and are scientific experts to internal colleagues at companies.
However, the primary purpose of the MSL role is to establish and maintain peer to peer relationships with leading physicians, referred to as Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), at major academic institutions and clinics.Role and ResponsibilitiesInteractions~ Scientific exchange (one-one and group interactions) with key health system stakeholdersEducationDevelop and assist in the assembly of scientific medical learning events and preceptorship programs being responsible for defining the agenda, inviting speakers and monitoring the event.Address unsolicited medical information requestsServe as scientific peer-to-peer resource to experts and internal stakeholders.Data generationSupport the planning and execution of clinical studies, expanded access programs and local publicationsCapture unsolicited investigator study initiative (IIS), supporting protocol submission and assist core team members on the project assessmentInsight collectionConduct advisory boards and consultation meeting as per the brand strategyAttend conferences and write conference insight reportsGather infields insights and feedback to support medical plan strategyMedical projectsImplement partnership and collaborative projects as per the brand strategyOrganize and attend the medical affairs booth at scientific conferencesDevelop medical materials including scientific slide decksReview grant and sponsorship requestsCross-functional collaborationWork cross-functionally with the Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Medical information, Market Access, and Commercial departments to achieve business strategic imperativesAttend the relevant internal meetings (brand team, country strategic meetings, etc.) and third-party meetingsDevelop and disseminate in-depth scientific contents on the assigned products/therapeutic areaGather scientific intelligence on main competitors landscapeTimely collect and communicate to brand team all relevant trends, changes in standard of care, unmet needs and insights identified in-fieldPerform continuous trainings for medical and commercial, and market access and local, regional and integral teams.Carry out presentations to regional and/or global teams as neededParticipate, guide, and review the development of promotional materials for the sales force, together with product and marketing managers, in accordance with established objectives and in line with current legislation ensuring clinical accuracy of messagesContribute to the market access strategy, providing the medical expertise in the clinical evidence, real world data, and relationship building with decision makers,
further supporting the development and implementation of an assigned value dossierProvide scientific support for regulatory filing and labelling reviewCollaborate in pharmacovigilance and/or Patient Support Program tasksReport adverse event and special situation to Pharmacovigilance in a timely mannerCompliance and budgetFollow the applicable SOPs, regulations, policies and code of conduct.Participate in audits and inspection as neededEnsure compliance with the assigned budgetIdeal Candidate ProfileWe are seeking a highly adaptable healthcare professional who can successfully integrate into a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced team environment.
The ideal candidate will combine solid scientific foundations with strong interpersonal skills and the flexibility to work effectively across multiple stakeholders.Preferred BackgroundMedical degree in Health Sciences.Medical specialty highly preferred, ideally in Internal Medicine or Neurology .
Previous experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is strongly preferred.Candidates without MSL experience may be considered if they have:Experience as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) or Clinical Study Monitor within a CRO environment.Exposure to clinical studies in Neurology or Neuroscience-related therapeutic areas.Approximately 6 months to 1 year of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, medical affairs, or clinical research .
