We're looking for anAI Software Engineerwith a strong technical background—someone who knows how to integrate language models, embeddings, and agents into real-world systems that are scalable and maintainable.
As a Software Engineer, you must know sound principles about software development, clean architectures, and how to write good code.
You need to understand the basics of frontend, backend, and Dev Ops, and be strong with at least one of them.
This role is for someone who doesn't just use LLMs, but understands how they work, how to optimize and deploy them, and most importantly, how to turn them into real products.What you'll doDesign and buildend-to-end AI-powered featuresthat directly impact how people learn at Platzi.
UseLLMs, agents, embeddings, RAG, and fine-tuningnot just as tools, but as core building blocks to deliver personalized, intelligent product experiences.
Work with multiple LLM providers: Open AI, Anthropic, Gemini/Vertex AI, Mistral AI.
Integrate frameworks like Lang Chain, Llama Index, and similar tools into real data pipelines and products.
Process unstructured data (PDFs, images, videos) and extract meaningful information.
Build robust backend services with Python, Fast API, and Django (bonus points if you also know Type Script and have worked with Cloudflare Workers or Hono).
Stay up to date with the latest AI advancements and bring those improvements to our stack.
Read, understand, and apply insights from technical papers and research reports.
Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, maintainable software that scales.
Who you are3+ yearsof experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role.
Strong command of Python and experience with frameworks like Fast API or Django.
Familiarity with AI/ML fundamentals, especially LLMs, embeddings,



and retrieval-based architectures (RAG).
Experience working with APIs from Open AI, Anthropic, Gemini/Vertex AI, or Mistral.
Solid understanding of software design principles, clean code, and system architecture.
Comfortable integrating AI frameworks like Lang Chain, Llama Index, or similar.
Experience processing unstructured data: PDFs, images, videos, or audio.
Familiarity with backend, frontend, and Dev Ops — strong in at least one of them.
Able to read and apply insights from technical papers and research.
English level B2 or above: you can comfortably engage in technical discussions.
Nice to haveExperience shipping AI-powered features end to end.
Knowledge of Type Script and Cloudflare Workers or Hono.
Familiarity with model fine-tuning or open-source AI tools.
