About the Role In this opportunity as a Sub Editor, Global Pictures Desk you will: Using the skills, we will teach and personal initiative you will gather news images sent in from photographers from around the globe. You will research and edit photos, writing captions in English quickly and accurately for speedy delivery to our general clients. You will maintain close operational links between our pictures, text, video and on-line operations to guarantee integrated news coverage and production. You will edit and process live pictures from many major news, sport and entertainment events. About You You're a fit for the role if your background includes: A degree in English, mass communication, journalism, or a related field. A passion for news and news photography/visual journalism; experience in either is a plus. Solid knowledge of global and regional current affairs. Strong news judgment and the ability to identify breaking news quickly. Excellent interpersonal skills and composure under pressure. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, inclusive, high-performing collaborative multinational team. Commitment to follow the company's ethical guidelines and editorial integrity. Flexibility to work a integral 24/7 rotating shift schedule, including weekends, public holidays, and occasional night shifts. Experience or interest in photography and/or journalism. Competence using Apple computers and Adobe Photoshop. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
