Job Description Summary
The Lead Substation BIM Designer will play a key role in supporting project execution, sales and business development by providing technical expertise in the design of electrification solutions for the EHV/HV Substations. We are seeking an experienced 2 D & 3 D BIM Lead Primary Substation Physical Designer with a strong background in electrical substation design to contribute to the delivery of EHV/HV AIS & GIS Substation projects.
Job Description
As an experienced 3 D Substation Physical Designer, you will develop 3 D Models using Revit for High Voltage Substations and generate electrical physical 2 D drawings. This individual will be responsible for system design, quantity estimation, various engineering activities associated for a project and customer technical consultations. The candidate will also ensure that the proposed solutions meet customer needs while adhering to industry standards, safety regulations, quality requirements and cost-efficiency objectives. The candidate will work with GSI Global Engineering Centre (GSI GEC) to coordinate with the GSI Regions / Business Lines / as per Project requirement.
What you’ll do
Preparation of basic Single Line Diagram, General arrangement, Layout Plan & Section of Overall substation, HV equipment erection drawings, Equipment control room, GIS building layout, grounding Layout/details , Trench Layout, for GIS/AIS Substation Utilize 3 D Modeler experience to implement the BIM Execution Plans, 3 D Model Collaboration (internal & external), 3 D Model Auditing, Clash Detection Meeting and Reports, Virtual Construction, Design & Constructability Reviews, Augmented Reality, georeferencing, IFC exchanges, ITO (tender) drawings & BOQ estimation.
Hands -on experience in designing optimized substation primary /physical drawings taking care of all design aspects including electrical clearances for indoor/outdoor substation areas. Support projects design reviews Coordination and integration with Automation, Civil & MEP. Coordination of site & office team for execution of project
Qualifications / Requirements Bachelor’s Degree, from an accredited college or university Around 7 years of 3 D HV Substation modelling experience. Professional working proficiency in English (reading, speaking, writing) Desired Qualifications Extensive knowledge and experience of the latest version of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and how it links to other software. Good knowledge of ISO 19650 and other BIM standards. Demonstrated MCAD skills, including general usage and tool configuration; in addition to Revit exposure to several 3 D engineering design tools (Creo, E3 D, Solidworks, Inventor) and IFC exchange format. Customer focused with ability to adapt to various customer standards. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage tasks in a collaborative environment. Good communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Additional Information Relocation Assistance Provided: No
