Our client is migrating multiple web properties from Drupal to WordPress. Our development partner has launched a WordPress multisite infrastructure. Our internal staff have already organized the content - copy and images - for each site. We need someone to sit between those two groups and build the pages:
Taking prepared content and assembling clean, consistent, on-brand layouts using the custom blocks provided. This is a production and layout role rather than a from-scratch visual design role; the design system and block library will already exist.
Key Responsibilities
- Build out pages across multiple WordPress sites using a block-based content editor
- Translate organized content from non-technical staff into polished pages that follow Our client's brand guidelines
- Maintain layout and styling consistency across a high volume of pages and across both sites
- Verify pages render correctly across desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints
- Identify gaps where existing blocks do not cover a layout need and flag to Our client team
- Work directly with Our client stakeholders to review pages, gather feedback, and make revisions
- Track and update progress in a project ticket management tool
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building production pages in the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg, Layout Builder, Elementor, etc), including work with custom or pre- built block libraries
- Strong eye for layout - spacing, typography, visual hierarchy, and responsive behavior
- Demonstrated ability to work with content and media at volume without losing accuracy or consistency
- Comfort working within an established design system rather than creating one
- Self-directed; able to take organized content and move it to a finished page without daily direction
- Great communication skills in English; will be on regular calls with non-technical staff and must be able to explain things plainly
- Comfortable working in the Pacific time zone with substantial daily overlap for review
