Role Description This full-time Buyer role is an on-site position based in Tecate, BCN. The Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and services needed for medical device assembly and molded components. Daily activities include reviewing production requirements, preparing and issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand.
The role also involves negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers, evaluating vendor performance, and ensuring materials meet quality and regulatory standards. The Buyer will collaborate closely with production, quality, engineering, and finance teams to support efficient operations and cost-effective purchasing decisions.
Documentation, data entry, and reporting on purchasing activities are essential parts of this role.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with ERP and MRP systems
- Strong supplier negotiation and relationship-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to material shortages
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and purchase-order accuracy
Key Responsibilities
- Review MRP requirements and create purchase orders through the ERP system
- Purchase raw materials, chemicals, tooling, packaging, equipment, and other manufacturing supplies
- Obtain quotes and negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms,
and delivery schedules
- Track purchase orders, supplier confirmations, and delivery commitments
- Expedite materials and resolve shortages that could affect production
- Maintain accurate pricing, lead-time, supplier, and purchase-order information
- Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, cost, and on-time delivery
- Identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities
- Resolve invoice, receiving, pricing, and quantity discrepancies
- Assist with supplier evaluations and the development of alternative sources
- Consider tariffs, freight costs, and other supply-chain risks when making purchasing decisions
- Collaborate with internal departments to support changing production priorities
- Follow company purchasing procedures and applicable quality requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical devices
- Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of PCB raw materials, chemicals, laminates, copper, tooling, or related supplies
- Experience with international suppliers, freight, tariffs, and extended lead times

Education and Experience
